Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, along with the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help with spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (called a hash) may be shared with the Gravatar service to check if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available at: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After your comment is approved, your profile picture may be visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, please avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors to the website may be able to download and extract location data from images on the site.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site, you may opt-in to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies. These cookies are for your convenience and help you avoid re-entering your details when leaving another comment. These will last for one year.

If you visit our login page, a temporary cookie will be set to check whether your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we set cookies to save your login information and display preferences. Login cookies last for two days; screen options cookies last for a year. Selecting “Remember Me” keeps you logged in for two weeks. Logging out removes the login cookies.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply records the post ID of the article you edited. It expires after one day.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (such as videos, images, or articles). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the same way as if the visitor had visited the other website directly.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with their content — especially if you are logged in to those sites.

Who we share your data with

If you request a password reset, your IP address may be included in the reset email.
We may also share your information with trusted service providers (e.g., hosting, email, or analytics services), but only to the extent necessary and always under strict confidentiality.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, both the comment and its metadata are stored indefinitely. This helps us automatically recognize and approve future comments instead of holding them for moderation.

If you register on our website (if available), we store the personal information you provide in your user profile. All users can view, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except for their username). Website administrators can also view and edit this information.

Where your data is sent

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
Additional third-party tools (e.g., analytics or newsletter services) may process your data according to their own privacy policies.
